Mode of Action
EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) are 2 Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) found in fish oil, which belong to the Omega 3 family of polyunsaturated fats.
They are essential for health and wellbeing, and are just as important as vitamins and minerals, because the human body cannot manufacture them.
They must be supplied in the diet each day and are associated with improved heart function, circulation, brain health, cognition and mood, vision, joint mobility and immunity.
Indications
Fish oils are important for a variety of functions in the human body. Epidemiological research suggests that those populations where there is a better ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 oils have improved wellbeing generally.
Fish Oils may assist with healthy heart function; the relief of joint problems; aid skin conditions such as eczema; and assist in easing menstrual pain and cramps. Fish oils have also been found to assist with allergies. Research has also looked at the use of fish oils in assisting with mood.
