Prescriptions
In addition to our other offerings, Amcal Hardy Street Pharmacy is a fully licensed pharmacy and we are able to dispense your prescriptions then courier them directly to you. This may be ideal if you:
- Don’t live near a pharmacy
- Have difficulty with getting transport
- Want more privacy or discretion when having your medicines dispensed.
We are able to process any prescription but in the interests of safety & practicality we have chosen not to dispense the following:
- Controlled drugs such as morphine, pethidine, methylphenidate, oxycodone etc.
- Items that require refrigeration such as insulin, growth hormone, Humira etc.
- Drugs that are of considerable bulk such as special foods
Before we can dispense your medicines we require your original prescription. Please post your prescription to us at:

Alternatively, your prescriber may fax the prescription directly to us on 03-548 7935 then post through the original prescription to the above address. Please note that under current New Zealand legislation you are not able to fax us your prescription directly from your own home, workplace etc.)
We may also need to contact you to clarify details not apparent on the prescription or if we feel that you would benefit from counselling about your medicines. Please print out the Patient Information form below, fill it out and either attach it to your prescription when you send it to us or send it directly if your prescription is being faxed on your behalf.
For Pharmac subsidised medicines, standard New Zealand prescriptions charges will apply. For non-subsidised medicines, we can contact you before dispensing to inform you of the cost. Alternatively you can contact us by phone or e-mail to determine what the cost will be but please make sure that you have all the relevant prescription details so we can give you the correct price.
All prescriptions must be written by a registered New Zealand prescriber. Prescriptions medicines will only be delivered to New Zealand addresses.
We send all prescriptions by courier with a signature requirement on delivery so please ensure that someone you trust will be available to take delivery at the address provided.
Our standard shipping charges apply to delivery of prescriptions:
- $5.00 shipping for orders under $200
Payment must be made by direct credit from your bank account. If you prefer you may collect you prescription from us, and pay then. We will contact you to let you know the total cost. If paying by Direct Credit please pay to:

So in summary:
- Download and print out the Patient information Form below, fill in the details and attach it to your prescription.
- Post your prescriptions plus completed Patient Information Form to us
- We will process your prescription and once payment has been verified we will courier it back to the address that you have provided.
